About New Law College Pune

The college is Re-Accreditated with “A+” Grade by National Assessment & Accreditation Council (3rd Cycle). .The college was inaugurated in the year 1978 at the hands of Hon. Mr. Justice Y.V. Chandrachud the then Chief Justice of India. The foundation stone of the New Law College building was laid down in the year 2004 at the hands of the Chief Justice of India Hon. Mr. Justice K.G. Pattern of BA LLB entrance exam

The exam is of 100 marks with 100 MCQs, each carries one mark for correct answer and no negative marking. The exam comprises 25 questions from each section, including English Grammar Usage & Comprehension, Legal Aptitude Analytical Ability & Logical Reasoning, Current Legal News & General Knowledge and Social Sciences.

The varsity offers 180 seats (120 for aided and 60 for unaided category candidates) for each of the two five-year integrated Law courses. New Law College, Pune, also known as Bharati Vidyapeeth New Law College, is a constituent college of Bharati Vidyapeeth Deemed University (BVDU) Pune. The College is accredited with an “A+” Grade by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC). In 2020, it was ranked 9 for Law by India Today. It was also ranked 4 and 15 for Law by the Outlook and The Week, respectively, in 2019. At present, the College offers UG, PG, doctorate and diploma programmes in several specialisations of Law. The courses offered by the College are approved by the Bar Council of India (BCI) and the University Grants Commission (UGC). The College also arranges moot court competitions for its UG and PG students.

After completing 10+2 level or equivalent with 50% aggegate, candidates may pursue integrated courses of five-year viz. B.A. LL.B and BBA LL.B offered by the college. The intake capacity for each of the courses are 180 seats. Relaxation of 5% marks in aggregate is given to the SC/ ST candidates

Bharati Vidyapeeth, the parent body of Bharati Vidyapeeth University was established on 10th May, 1964 by Dr. Patangrao Kadam with the objective of bringing about intellectual awakening & overall development of the people of our country through education.
